Hi, my name is Joseph and I am currently a senior student of Civil Engineering at the University of Technology Sydney. I originally come from Kempsey on the mid north coast of NSW, kind of a big version of a small country town; lots of farms, everyone knows each other, and best of all only a short drive to some of the nicest beaches in the world.
I married my wife Natasha almost three years ago when I was twenty four, we were engaged at twenty two - relatively young amongst our generation but we are lucky to have found each other. Natasha has a degree in English literature, I am more inclined towards scientific and technical academia but together we have both become aficionados of each other's fields of interest. Natasha is a devourer of books and I have benefited greatly from her vast collection of literature.
My career aspirations are perhaps a little diverse. Though I wish to work in industry, I would love to teach as my experience grows; I come from a family of teachers and I certainly have the bug. Primarily, however, I wish to gain employment in a company whose works are on the forefront of engineering technology, a company who endeavours to invest in research and values those employees who have new ideas. I am of the opinion that the engineering industry in general can do many things better and that those who refuse to overcome issues - be they environmental, financial or political - are forgetting that we are engineers, our purpose above all others is to solve problems such as these.
In general I'm quite a friendly and laid back person and I'm a bit of an all rounder in skills and interests. I play soccer, I love carpentry (My parents brought me up whilst building our house), and my biggest hobby is finding new things to be interested in.
